"Tuscan Poppies"- Artwork

"Tuscan Poppies" is one of my favorite pieces! I just love the poppies in the foreground and the background, with the smooth river in between.

Poppies are one of my favorite flowers, I just love how loose and delicate they are, and all the shades of red and orange they come in. They are so vibrant from bud to full bloom. I hope you love them as much as I do!

After sketching the image and creating the design, I paint in thick layers that ultimately catch light and shadows as well as contributing unusual color elements to the image as the next layer is applied. This technique not only creates a three-dimensional quality to the original as well as prints, but it also adds a richness and dramatic effect.

This measures 16” x 20" x 1.5” (sides painted, no frame needed)
