This piece is all about springtime in Washington—the kind of day when the cherry blossoms seem to soften everything around them. I loved building up the blossoms with thick texture so they would feel full, airy, and alive, framing the Washington Monument in that unmistakable burst of seasonal color. The blue water and sky give it a fresh, open feeling, while the soft pinks bring in all the beauty and romance of cherry blossom season.
