“Heart of Sunshine” - Original

“Heart of Sunshine” is one of my favorite still life pieces, and it was such a joy to create! The large, cheerful sunflowers practically glow as they fill a classic blue-and-white ginger jar vase. I used a palette knife to build up the thick, textured petals, which give the flowers a sense of depth and movement. The complementary blues in the background were a deliberate choice to make the sunflowers feel even warmer and more vibrant. And that single fallen petal on the table? It’s a little detail I love, adding a sense of quiet charm to the piece. It’s my hope that this painting brings a sense of joy and light to anyone who sees it!
