"Cardinal in Winter's Tender Light" - Limited Hand Embellished Reproduction

“Cardinal in Winter’s Tender Light” is a piece I created to honor the peaceful beauty of a snowy forest touched by gentle sunlight. This hand-embellished reproduction of my original larger work is newly available in a 20" x 16" size — perfect for smaller spaces with a big dose of warmth and texture.

Using my palette knife, I built up rich layers of paint to give the birch trees, snow, and fallen leaves a dimensional, tactile feel, allowing the winter light to dance softly through the forest. Autumn’s final golden leaves rest quietly across the snowy ground, offering a warm contrast to the cool blues and whites of winter.

And tucked tenderly among the trees is a tiny red cardinal, do you see him? He is a subtle but meaningful presence. Cardinals always feel like little messengers of love and remembrance to me, a gentle reminder that we are never alone, even in the stillness of winter.

The impasto texture brings depth and life to the scene, emphasizing both the strength of the trees and the softness of the light. My hope is that this painting offers a moment of calm and reflection, wrapping you in the same sense of serenity I felt while creating it.
