"Winter's Tender Light" - Original Artwork
"Winter’s Tender Light" is a piece I created to capture the peaceful beauty of a snowy forest touched by gentle sunlight. Using a palette knife, I built up thick layers of paint to give the snow, trees, and leaves a textured, almost tangible feel. The sunlight filtering through the trees is meant to add warmth, softly illuminating the snow-covered ground.
Autumn’s last leaves, in shades of yellow, brown, and orange, are scattered across the snow, offering a quiet contrast to the cool blues and whites. I hoped to create a sense of calm and serenity with the interplay of light and shadow.
The impasto technique allowed me to bring depth and dimension to the scene, emphasizing both the strength of the trees and the softness of the light. My goal was to evoke a moment of stillness, where nature feels both powerful and gentle at the same time. I hope this painting brings the same sense of peace to others as it did to me while creating it.
