"Garden Guardian" - Artwork
"Garden Guardian" features a beautiful male Northern Cardinal, perhaps the most recognizable bird in North America, with its bright red plumage, black face mask, and distinctive crest.
Many people believe cardinals represent loved ones who have passed, but are reaching out to them from the other side. I love the comfort my cardinals give so many of my collectors. This beautiful bird stands guard among the spring blossoms, periodically singing his song that sounds like "cheer-cheer-cheer" or "birdie-birdie-birdie". These beautiful songs are a common sound in many backyards and parks and gardens.
I painted this piece in thick layers using a palette knife and texture medium. This process catches light and shadows and creates highly textured dimension to this one-of-a-kind piece. I hope you love this as much as I do.
