"Sentinel of the Sea" - Original Artwork
This piece was inspired by cypress on the coast of Point Lobos—a symbol of quiet strength and resilience. I used thick palette knife strokes to echo the rocky texture of the cliffs and the graceful defiance of the tree standing watch over the sea. The sky glows with soft pinks, golden light, and drifting blues, evoking that magical coastal light just before sunset.
I wanted to capture the feeling of standing at the edge of the world, where earth, sky, and sea meet in a moment of peace and power. This tree, weathered by time and wind, still stands tall. I hope “Sentinel of the Sea” brings that same sense of calm strength into your space.
