"Spice Blooms & Shadow" - Original Artwork

I’m always drawn to the way light can completely change a simple arrangement, and that was really the inspiration behind this piece. I loved the contrast of the warm orange and pink blooms against the cooler blue-violet shadows, and I wanted the whole painting to feel colorful, loose, and full of movement.

I used my palette knife to build up lots of texture in the flowers and played with the shapes of the shadows across the wall and tabletop. I love combining bold color, thick impasto texture, and strong light, and this painting brought all three together in a way that felt especially fun to paint.
