"Beneath the Blooming Sky" - Original Artwork

In Beneath the Blooming Sky, I wanted to capture one of Washington, D.C.’s most treasured sights — the Washington Monument framed by a cascade of cherry blossoms in full springtime glory. 

The blooms are painted with thick, textured strokes, their soft pinks and whites set against a clear blue sky. The blossoms seem to lean toward the reflecting pool below, where the monument’s image shimmers in deep, vibrant blues. This piece is about the feeling of standing there in person — the sense of peace, renewal, and quiet awe that comes when beauty and history meet in the heart of the nation’s capital.
