"Reflections of Spring" - Original Artwork

This piece captures one of the most breathtaking scenes in Washington, D.C.—the cherry blossoms in full bloom along the Tidal Basin, with the Washington Monument standing tall in the distance. I was inspired by the way the blossoms and the monument reflect together in the water, like spring and history quietly holding hands.

I used a mix of palette knife and brush to create contrast—the thick, textured petals of the blossoms bring softness and movement, while the monument rises with calm strength against the vivid blue sky. The shimmering reflection in the water was my favorite part to paint—it felt like painting hope itself.

"Reflections of Spring" is about more than a season. It’s about renewal, beauty, and the quiet resilience that lives in both nature and the human spirit.
